1. Subtract –140 from the sum of –70 and -80.
2. Subtract –180 from the difference of 80 and –  150
3. The sum of two integers is –60 . If one of them is –26 , find the other
4. Add the product of (–26) and (–4) to the quotient of (–492) by – 6
5. Simplify (–21)x (–78) + (–21) x (–22)  
6. For a particular show in a circus, each ticket cost Rs 41. If 416 tickets are sold  for the show, how much amount has been collected ?

Class VII                                         Assignment 01
1. Subtract the sum of –1040 and – 240 from the product of –130 and 320
2. The product of two integers is – 6400 . If one of them is – 20 , find the other.
3. A shopkeeper sells 50 pens and gains Rs 1 on each pen. By selling 12 dozen   
    pencils he loses 20 paise per pencil. What is his gain or loss ?
4. Simplify  (–12) x (–15) + (–12) x (–25)
5. An elevator descends into a mine shaft at the rate of 5 metre per minutes. If
     the descending starts from 20 m above the ground level , how long will it  
     take to reach – 240 m . 
6. A water tank has eight steps inside it. A monkey is sitting on the top most
     step (First step).Water level is at ninth step.
 i) He jumps 3 steps down and then jumps back 2 steps up. In how many jumps
    will he reach the water level ?
ii) After drinking water he wants to go back. For this, he jumps 4 steps up and
     two steps down in every move . In how many jumps will he reach back the
     top step.
