(Revise First page of every chapter important points and results)

             CHAPTER – RATIONAL NUMBERS

TYPE 1 Define Rational number.
Rational number are those numbers which can be expressed in the form of p/q , where q is not equal to 0.

TYPE 2 Positive and negative number
Q. Find the positive and negative number
1/5,    6/7,     -4/5

TYPE 3 Standard form (reduced/Simplest form)
Q1 Reduced -35/40    ,-48/36     and      5/20 in standard form

TYPE 4 Generate equivalent rational numbers
Q1 Write 4 rational number equivalent to 5/7

TYPE 5  Comparing rational numbers
Q1 Arrange the following rational number in ascending order 4/7,   5/8,    6/7
Q2.Write five rational number between ½ and 1/3

TYPE 6 Represent rational numbers on number line
Q1 Represent 3/5 and -3/5 on number line.

TYPE 7 Operations on rational number i.e addition, subtraction, multiply and divide
Solve
i)                    ¼ +2/6
ii)                   2/6-5/7
iii)                 2/9 x 5/11
iv)                 Divide 6/14 by 9/12

TYPE 8 Additive inverse of rational number
Additive inverse of x /y is – x/y
Q. Find the additive inverse of 4/11
Ans :- The additive inverse of 4/11 is -4/11

CHAPTER – ALGEBRAIC EXPRESSION

TYPE 1 Understand variable, Constant, terms, factors and coefficients
2x+ 4y +6
Variable is x and y
Constant is 6
Terms are 2x , 4y and 6 ( 3 terms )
Coefficient of x is 2 and coefficient of y is 4

TYPE 2 Types of polynomial
i)                    Monomial – single term   eg. 2x
ii)                   Binomial – Two terms    eg. 2x + 4y
iii)                 Trinomial – three terms   eg. 2x + 4y + 3

TYPE 3 Like and unlike terms
Like terms:- These are the terms whose  variable (other name of variable is literals) factor are the same.  Eg. 2x2 , -6x2
UnLike terms:- These are the terms whose  variable (other name of variable is literals) factor are the different.  Eg. 2x2 , -6y2

TYPE 4 Addition/Subtraction of like terms
Q1 Add 4x + 3y -5z , -7z +5x – 8y and –y-3x +2z
Q2 Subtract 4a+3b-6 from 10a +7b-11

TYPE 5 Find the value of the expression
Q1 Find the value if a+2, b= -1 and c=1
a2 + b2 +c2 – ab – bc –ca

(base)Power – if base  and power is positive then value is always positive whereas if base is negative , value is depends on power i.e if power is odd then value is always negative  and if power is even then value is always positive
